    Default  Recommend me SD Cards!

    PNY
    SanDisk
    Ultra
    Kingston
    Others??

    Which brand?

I just need basic Max 2GB SD cards. My newer Lumix FX33 can also use SDHC, but my older FZ3 cannot. What brand would you choose? Keep in mind that I am a n00b photographer, and I don't need the top-of-the-line pro stuff. I just want good quality so that it is less likely to have stuff go wrong.

    Thanks in advance.

I use SanDisk Ultra IIs (CF) and San Disk regulars in the PnS.

I have Sandisk everything these days... only other card I have is an older SimpleTech 512mb CF card.

I really like the Sandisk Ultra II Plus cards because they fold in half to reveal a USB connection. No cable or card reader needed!

So SanDisk is no clear winner.

are the "faster" SD cards really worth it? i have 2 1gb cards that were free to me, and they can be kinda slow while importing pictures from the camera. i want a faster card, probly somewhere in the 4gb range [for good measure] but i dont want to be sucked into a "snake oil" type of deal.

Moved, eh?....Well, I see I posted in the wrong forum. :0

Be careful when getting bigger SD cards, though. I am finding out that the SDHC cards are probably not compatible with the older cameras. I don't think I would want to go any higher than 2GB because if it hits the fan, that's a lot of data to lose.

I have been using a 512MB, and it's been fine. I saw the Ducati edition of the Extreme cards, but it's too oontzy for me. I think I'll go grab a couple 2GB SanDisk Ultra IIs.

    Thanks for the help.

Transcend is a very reputable company. I use their 150x speed cards and they are real nice. I have never had a single issue with them.

Just get any major, reputable brand. I prefer Sandisk for the most part, personally. I know people who had problems with Lexar a while ago where they had card readers that only read their cards, or cards that didn't read in other readers. For those reasons I've largely avoided Lexar just to keep things simple.
