    Default  Remote shutter release suggestions?  
      
    		  

    So the infrared canon remote that i used to use on the 300D doesn't work on my 1d, so i need to get a new one. Do you guys have any suggestions on any wired or wireless remotes?

    The Canon RS-80N3 i heard works well, but is apparently overpriced? The gadget infinities also look like an interesting option (but seems like it'll break in like two seconds) Is there a reasonably priced reliable wireless remote?

    Ebay. Just search for your camera and remote release. $10 tops. Been using mine for my 30D/5D for a while now, even bought a spare just in case.

    Or are you looking for wireless?

    I got a canon one, don't know the number, for my 40d for xmas. Works well but I'm sure its not that complicated. (its the wired one)

    +1 for the cheap ebay wire less.

    Had mine for 2 years and I use it alot and still works fine.

    ah. I ended up buying a cheap RF off ebay. it was about $25 shipped. Figure It's worth a try

    Ended up buying the Phottix 'Cleon' version. The receiver also doubles as a cabled remote, when you don't want to use wireless. http://www.dpnotes.com/phottix-cleon/

    It's not listed on ebay yet, but if you place an order on the 'C3' version, you'll get the Cleon for free. It's going to be put up 'officially' on ebay at twice the price this week.
