Also a good one.
I've been researchin' my scrot off...There's a ton of options out there for what I'm looking for in a next lense...
A zoom portrait lense to compliment a 50mm/1.4.
Sig 17 - 70
Sig 24 - 70
Tok 28 - 70
Tok 28 - 80
ect...it goes on and on...

Yeah the one i have isn't bad. Not stellar but pretty decent. 2.8 constant aperture, moderate focusing speed (but noisy) and a rotating front element but since I figure I'd sell it for around $150 it's not exactly like it'll be a bad deal.

NEW UPDATED GEAR LIST

I had and loved that lens until I upgraded to the L... It's sharper at 24mm than the L but the L wins at 70mm. That's to say optically it's an amazing lens IMHO. But it doesn't have HSM (sigma's version of USM, a fast silent AF motor) which could make it a PITA depending on what you're shooting... It was OK for me because I used it mostly for landscape/travel type stuff, and it is reasonably fast on a 1 series, but on the 5D it was a bit to slow (it's also very noisy).
Constant f/2.8 and wonderful IQ.
Maybe look at some of the other DC options and other third party digital only options that are constant f/2.8 AND have some version of USM/HSM?
I own this joint!

I have it and pretty satisfied with it. I'm very happy with it optically. As previously stated, it could benefit from HSM but hasn't been a problem with me. I am almost tempted to sell only to get something wider. With the 1.6x factor with my 300D, 24mm doesn't feel wide enough. I've been looking at the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 (I have a 70-200 f4L so I don't need a lens up to 70mm). If I didn't have the 70-200, there would be no thought of getting rid of it.
