    Default  EF 15mm f/2.8 lens

Somone has offered me a trade of my old tripod + cash for the EF 15mm f/2.8 fish eye lens and I was wondering if any of you have used this lens and could tell me what you think of it. I've read some reviews and everyone says good things but it would be nice to have someone here who could review it and maybe compare it to the EF 14mm f/2.8L.

    Thanks.

its a fun lens for sure, its AF is slow, but I found it to be a minimal problem. Its on my list after the 5D. The 14mm is not a fisheye so there is your difference. you will get a different distortion with the 14. PLUS, the 14mm is discontinued AFAIK and 4x the price if you can find one.

Al it's an awesome lens, but it's very specialized... I LOVE mine. I've wanted one for 10 years, but everyone always told me I'd overuse it and or get sick of it. So far that has not been the case and I've been LOVING mine. Ted also has one here, although he was a sneak and just starting posting pictures without mentioning getting it... lol Check his big bend thread for the 2 night shots.

Here are a few of my samples:

As for the lens itself? It's weird looking and focuses loudly. But it's AF is fast enough and accurate so who cares? The sigma version is cheaper and supposedly built better but I prefer the way the canon looks (the lens itself, not the pictures)... So yeah. +1 for the fisheye on a FF. If you have a crop (not you Al, but anyone reading this) then go for the 10mm versions for the same effect.
    I own this joint!

    thanks.

And yeah, it's a VERY specialized lens. It's a ton of fun, but you have to know that they're not for everything going into it. But it's tempting to use it all the damn time.
